whenever I open a word document, I first get a test box message that says
"Could not locate Bookshelf application". The box has a close button and a
cancel button. Selecting either of these removes the message box and I can
continue ie the file I needed opens properly. Can someone please tell me how
to stop this box from appearring? Windows XP version 2002, Word 95 version
97. THANKS

If I recall correctly, the Bookshelf is a customizable install
item. Start the Word Install process and select Cutom, then
remove the Bookshelf tick mark. That should straighten out the
situaiton including the Registry entry.
You might be able to access that from the Add/Remove menu:
I -think- there will be a "change" selection there.
