Word Word 2007 slow in compatability mode

Hi,
Using Word 2007 for a doc created in 2003 so running in "compatability mode" - is incredibly slow! This is running on a high spec* vista laptop. Anyone else experienced problems? Is it common to compatability mode? Generally not that impressed with office 2007, is slow and cant find any of the functions i am used to in 2003. Have persevered as want to be a "power user" in 2007 (to prempt work migration) as i am in 2003 but am getting increasingly frustrated with it and am seriously considering a downgrade!

Try resaving the document as a DOCX file.. :)

2007 does take some getting used to - but it WILL be the future of 80% of all documents..
So hang in there and keep playing!
