There shouldn't be any [serious] problem as long as you take the need for
cross-platform use into consideration. The file formats are identical, but
the operating systems are different as well as the fact that Mac Word & PC
Word are not "clones" of the same software - They're very similar, but not
identical. You're to be commended for asking *first* rather than
after-the-fact
Among other things:
* If the client doesn't need to edit the documents send PDFs instead,
* Stay with the fonts supplied with office,
* Make sure both her Mac & your PC are equipped with the same printer
drivers even though both of you don't physically have the same printer,
* Zip the files before sending (by email attachment?), have her do the same,
& always use filename extensions,
* Avoid the use of ongoing Track Changes - learn to use the Compare & Merge
features instead,
* Avoid inclusion of any inserted content that might be deemed "PC-Only",
* Office 2008 has no VBA support, so macros are out completely,
* Avoid the use of Document Themes (especially customized) & some of the
other "bells & whistles" that are available in 2007 - many of them have not
made it to the Mac version as yet & even those which have may not be as
fully implemented. That shouldn't be a major concern, though, because the
bulk of those features really don't have much place in professional docs in
the first place.

via the Mactopia website, Google Groups or other web interfaces as well as
via a newsreader.
