word 2007 autocomplete

Stan Baranowski

I am trying to find auto complete in word 2007. I saw a reference to
autocorrect options, but do not know how do get to it.
I would like to create an item so that my selected text would be inserted
when I type in some nonsense letters.
Please help.

Stan,
I think autocomplete is gone, you can still use autotext (but now it is
called building blocks). You can make an entry going to Insert - Text
group - Quick parts - save selection in quick parts gallery, give it a name,
chose a category or make one and hit OK.
Now to use it just type in the letters of the entry and press F3, that
should work like before.

You will find autocorrect in Word Options > Proofing > Autocorrect Options.

I thank you for your response, however, the dummy that I am, I cannot seem
to find "Word Options".
Where the devil is it?

To find "Word Options", click the Office Button (the round icon with
the Windows logo in the upper left-hand corner). "Word Options" is in
the lower right-hand corner.
