Word 2007 and Windows XP

I need to know if Word 2007 works with Windows XP, and how well?

Do I need to buy Vista to run it?

From what I've seen in the NGs, you're probably better off running it on XP
(at least for now). Vista has its own issues.

I am running Office 2007 on Windows XP and it works fine.

You don't need Vista from what I see for Word 07.

Yes office 2007 works with xp pro with sp2 only
