Hi, I have windows 2000 with Open Office. I need to send email assignments
in word 2003 format, so I bought office home and student 2007 software which
apparantly can be changed to 2003 word format. However when I put in the cd
a message said that I need a newer version of windows. Someone suggested
that I could buy xp in cd version as I don't have a dvd with my computer.
Thanks

Hi Heidi,

MS Windows XP with Service Pack 2 is the minimum Windows version for Office 2007.

Open Office Org can save in MS Word 97-2003 file format although not all of the Open Office features will be able to used.

You may want to look for a used or online store with a copy of an older (than 2007) version of MS Office to purchase for your
purposes.

For Windows XP upgrade you may want to check with the folks in the Windows XP discussion groups on recommended approach and to check
your PC to see if it's able to support Windows XP.
