Word 2003 Vertical Text Box

Hi,
I am using the Vertical text box to type in English.
I have used the underline yesterday, and the underline appeared to the left
of the text. But today, no matter what I do the underline appears on the
right of the text.

Could some one please tell me how to get it back to the left of the text ?

Actually the box cant be rotated as the option for that is greyed out, but
are you referring to rotating the text ? Not sure how to do that, could you
explain it please ?

We're obviously talking at cross purposes. I assumed rotated text was what
you meant by "vertical text." What are you actually doing, and what sort of
"underline" is it that appears left or right instead of underneath?
