Word 2003 - Mouse-over on hyperlinked graphic doesn't show hand ic

I've created a web-page using Word 2003 and have assigned hyperlinks to some
graphic (.gif) images. When you view the page in IE the links work, but when
you mouse-over the graphic, the cursor never changes to a hand icon
(indicating it's clickable).

You need to press the Ctrl key, by default. If you'd prefer to be able to
click, without having to press Ctrl, choose Tools - Options - Edit, and
remove the check next to "Use CTRL+Click to follow hyperlinks".

And that's as it should be - the hyperlinks are not active in the Word file
because it would be more difficult to select & edit them if they were. If
you hover your mouse over the image you'll see a tip box indicating that you
can follow the link if you Control+Click it.

I'm aware of that setting and it works for me while I'm actually editing the
page within Word - the hand icon appears fine at that point... It's when I
preview the page in IE (or transfer the html file to the web) and view it
using IE - at that point the hand icon no longer appears - but the
graphic/hyperlink still works....

I completely overlooked that you were talking about in IE before. When I
save as web page from Word 2003, I see what you see in IE. Try saving as Web
Page, Filtered, instead.

However... when I save as Web Page, Filtered, I get the result you want --
the hand now appears when you mouse over a .gif that is hyperlinked (when
viewed in IE). Another benefit is that the html is cleaner and less
cluttered (possibly why unfiltered doesn't give the right result).

Thank you very much - that did the trick! I was so focused on looking for a
setting to turn off/on that I would never have figured it out!
