Word 2003 is Slow

Hey. I recently re-installed Word 2003 on my pc and it works fine except
that now it takes longer to load a document whether it is in My Documents or
My Recent Documents in the Start Menu. I used to be able to click on a
document from My Recent Documents and it would load up in 2 seconds. Now it
takes almost a minute to load. Whenever I open Word by itself, it does open
quick though. But documents take longer than before? I even uninstalled it
and reinstalled it and nothing. Any help?

My Word 2003 does take longer than it used to because it does a NAV
virus check before loading every file now, but it still doesn't take
more than 10 secs or so for a normal doc - but even 900 page ebooks
only take a few seconds more.

Well I have an HP Media Center PC m370n. I'm not sure why it takes longer
now. The PC is rather new and everything opens up fast. But documents in
recent document list and in My documents take a while.
