I have a one-page document with a list of file names. That's it! Can I
convert this so that it is typed on indexmaker labels or do I have to start a
new document, call up the label template and retype?

Thanks. I am now trying to do the labels; however, the info won't propagate
to the label template in Word. All it says is "next record" on each label
cell.

Yikes! After I propogated it still read "next record" but I did it anyway,
taking the result into a new documen t. The result? - Empty fields.

(Each record is just one cell in Excel. I have the records listed on
separate rows. I unchecked the box in Word that related to column header.)

Your FIRST label should not have the NEXT RECORD on it. All others should.
If they ALL have next record, it's not seeing any records...
Please make sure: a column heading in A1, and data in A2 on down, with NO
spaces.
