Word 2003 capitalizes each new line

J

Jennie R.

No matter what I type now, the computer says I must capitalize the
first word of a sentence continued on the line below.

One letter is loaded with green and red underline squiggles. How can
these grammar corrections be turned off?

Thanks for your help, Jennie

Stop pressing the Enter key at the end of each line. A word processor is not a
typewriter!

If you don't want to change your ways, go into the Options dialog* and turn off
spelling and grammar checking to avoid the squiggles.

* In Word 2003 or earlier, Tools > Options > Spelling & Grammar. In Word 2007,
Office button > Word Options > Proofing. In either case, uncheck "Check spelling
as you type". On-demand spelling and grammar checking is still available by
pressing F7 or using the appropriate menu/ribbon item.
