Word 2002

I have Works Suite 2005 which includes Word 2002. I am having trouble saving
documents (the button in the task bar flashes orange) and the spell check
doesn't work properly (there were two words in a document today that were not
caught). I looked for updates, but the only updates I see are for Office. I
have Office 2000 Professional, but the Word included was 2000, so I am using
Works - Word 2002.
I checked the settings in tools>language>etc. but everything there is fine.

Any ideas?

Thank you, but I am using Norton 2005 and the link only included information
up to Norton 2004. I have updated to Service Pack 3 and this is still
happening.

Any other thoughts or ideas?

With some versions of the Norton product it may be necessary to unregister
the calling DLL by running the following command line from Windows > Start >
Run

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton antivirus\officeav.dll"
or
regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton systemworks\norton
antivirus\officeav.dll"

Thanks for the response. What are the potential challenges if I do
unregister the DLL? Could this disable more than I should disable? I wish I
knew more about is issue, but I am just a layman. Any input is truly
appreciated.

This particular DLL allows for office documents to be monitored constantly
which provides an unwelcome overhead. It does not prevent the normal
checking of documents. There are no challenges involved, and Office will run
better.
