Word 2002 not working as Outlook 2002 email editor

I have Outlook XP and Word XP.

When I first used them about a year ago Word functioned
as the email editor but then I began receiving an error
message telling me that Word was busy and I was switched
to Outlook's email editor.

I have followed the instructions in an article in the
Technical database and deleted various registry entries
and then repaired Office XP. It has not made any
difference.

What can I do? Help would be appreciated.

Rather a long shot, but you might try renaming the Normal.dot template for Word.
