Word 2002: Inserting Photos Gives me big Red X. What's up?

K

All of the sudden I can't insert pictures into Microsoft Word (I use 2002
version). I have read almost ALL of the questions and answers and I've tried
everything. The placeholder in the options folder is not checked and the
Drawings is...so, that's not it. I've tried the control
panel/display/settings and moving the scroll bar all the way to the left and
that's not it. My computer says that there are no other drivers to
install...so, that's not it. I can't insert any photos in any Microsoft
program such as excel or Publisher...I get the same red X. This was not the
case just a week or so ago when I was inserting photos (jpegs) into
Publisher. Can someone help?

Thanks.

Thanks, Dawn. I tried that and now some photos will show up, but not the ones
I want. I've tried different photos throughout my C drive...some show up,
some don't. I've tried reducing the size of the photos and it doesn't seem to
make a difference. BTW, I'm inserting JPG files. Do you have any other
suggestions?

Since that helped some, try shutting down your computer and opening only
the Word document. Sounds like a memory issue to me.

That didn't work either. How do I check to see if it's a memory issue? Thanks
a ton.
