inserted images not showing in word 2002

hi,

i'm inserting photos into a word 2002 file - just empty space that
when you click on it you get a placeholder. if i change the formatting
of the graphic from, say, in line to "square" or "tight" it reappears
but as soon as you scroll down *poof* it's blank again. this is on an
xp box running all the latest office patches and sp2.

clearly there's a bug somewhere - if not word then the OS.

oh, and i have the placeholders option unchecked and drawings checked.

anyone have a fix for this?

This is almost certainly a display driver issue. See if there is an update
and/or reduce the hardware acceleration property of the driver.
