Trouble inserting pictures in Word

When I insert a picture into a Word 2002 Document, all that appears is a box
with a red x in the upper left hand corner. I can insert the same picture
into the same Word 2002 document on another workstation, so I feel pretty
confident that it's not the Word file or the picture, but the settings on
this station's copy of Word, but I've tried everything I can think of and
still no luck. Help!

In Tools > Options > View, make sure that "Picture placeholders" is _not_
checked and that "Drawings" _is_ checked.
