Word 2000

When it asks for the CD upon start-up, I cancel the install, Word 2000 opens
but no save button. I then close Word and reopen it and it works fine. So,
how can the installation/configuration be damaged? When I installed it, I
installed everthing on the HD as this is a laptop.
 
Of course it can be damaged. Next time it asks for the CD, do as it asks -
or simply repair the installation from the CD.
