Won't stay signed in?

I've had a problem with Windows Messenger 5 since I got a new
computer. It seems to load up and sign-in normally, but after a random
amout of time it signs me out. What's wierd it that it still *appears*
that I am signed in to me, but my friends cannot IM me. If I try to IM
someone after it has invisibly signed me out, it opens the chat dialog
and then realizes it's not signed in and tells me so. It's really
fustrating because I never know if I am actually signed it or if it
only appears to be signed in.

I am running Windows XP SP1, ZoneAlarm Pro and Messenger Plus!. I was
running this exact setup on my previous system without problems. Is
there anything I can do to fix this or to better diagnose the cause of
the problem?

Still having this problem and have read about it in numerous other
threads but without any official recognition by MS personel. This
problem is really impacting my ability to use Windows Messenger as my
primary IM application. I really hope this problem can be solved (or
at least acknowledged!) so that I don't have to start looking around
for a competing application that will work correctly!

I am having the same problem with more than one computer. I am using
version 4.7.2009.

I am behind a firewall, but it worked fine before one of the recent
upgrades/patches. I haven't changed anything with the firewall.
