Sounds like a possible driver issue, does it actually hang as in num locks
doesnt function? Or does it just sit there spinning away?

I have exactly the same problem.
I'm running Vista Ultimate version 6.0 (build 6000) and it just hangs on the
shutdown screen.
Any solution?

Mine does the same thing or did the last time I shut down. The last couple
of times I shut down I left it alone and it finally restarted by itself.
Vista Ultimate x64 has a problem somewhere. MS! Are you listening?

Contact PSS for each issue.

Something is hanging up (obviously, eh). Check in the Problem Reports and
Solutions applet for any hints.
Control Panel | System and Maintenance | Problem reports and Solutions.

Another option to ferret out the culprit is to do some clean boot
troubleshooting. The process applies to Vista as wells as XP.
