XP will not shut down and receive message that User Space Manager is not
responding. When I click End Program, the dilogue box disappears and nothing
happens. Further attempts to shut down XP result in nothing happening.
CNTRL-ALT-Delete doesn't bring up Task Manager.

XP had previous problems where it would not boot up. In attempts to get it
working, XP was reinstalled on D drive, but did not grant me access to files
to C drive nor recognize any software, hardware, etc. Took laptop to shop and
they backed up all files and reinstalled XP on C drive including all drivers.
They did not uninstall XP from D drive and upon reboot it presents me with
two choices...one that points to XP on C drive and on that points to XP on D
drive. I deleted all files that I could off the D drive, but could not delete
all.

Everything worked fine for two weeks and now it will not shut down due to
User Space Manager.

Any ideas on how to resolve?
