Hello.
I have XP home edition and Norton on system.
I turned off Restore Settings and installed new MS anti-
sasser software.
Now everything works fine except when Windows is Shut down.
It turns off and Immmediately restarts everytime.
It will not turn off properly.
I must turn the power off... that is not good. right?
Is something in the Registry fouled up?
How do I change Registry to get system to shut down
properly?
Thanks !!

Did you get this "anti-sasser software" from an email message?

Additionally, if you are one of the "lucky" ones who got Sasser later
(as opposed to the very first day we were seeing it), you probably have
more than just Sasser on your system. I'm finding the systems I'm
cleaning today to have at least 2 variants of Sasser and 2-3 other
trojans on them. So my feeling is that just because you've run the
Sasser tool and maybe removed avserve.exe and/or avserve2.exe, doesn't
mean your box is really clean. You have to do multiple scans with
trojan finders, a full-featured updated (to the *minute*) av, spyware
removal tools, and a firewall in place that will catch outgoing trojan
traffic.

In
Sasser is illogical. If it works on LSASS port, why does it insist on
sending email attachments?

Then complain to its author. Maybe you can get your money back.
