won't load windows xp

I was doing a disk cleanup and when i came back there were messages saying
that it took out things that were required. When I tried to restart my
computer it read that ,Windows root.\system 32\hal.dll. had been corrupted or
is missing. Is there any way I can get this back? Any help is greatly
appreciated. Thank you

Lay off the "disk cleanup" until you're better acquainted with what you're doing.
