wont hold home page on internet explorer

has anybody run into this. i open internet ex. and get a message--- cannot find 'file:///c:/searchpage.html'. make sure the path or internet address is correct. i like using about:blank as my home page, but even applying that under properties it wont hold after a few times of opening and closing internet explorer. when i close the message box it opens inter. ex. but no page is showing. i'll then press stop and in the address bar it says---- res://c:\windows\system32\shdoclc.dll/navcancl.htm any clues to what is causing this. even tried modifying the registry but still no luck.

- Spybot S&D
- Search for CWShredder.exe
- Search for HijackThis.exe.
- read up on www.cexx.org

That should take care of your problem.
