won't boot HELP!

when i start my computer it stops when it comes to windows logo screen then
goes black and then displays "reboot or insert boot disc and select boot
drive" or smth like that...what the hell...? i need to restart it few times
before it starts normally. any ideas?

How old is the computer and what operating system are you using? It sounds
like something has corrupted your install.

Try starting in Safe Mode and see what it does. It might be a device
problem, or a driver, or perhaps your hard drive is having problems, either
getting old or something is messing with it, like a virus.

asus p4p800, PIV 2.4ghz, 2x512 mb ram twinmos, transcend radeon 9600xt, win
xp pro
don't think it's a virus, don't think its the drivers but if it is would a
clean install of windows help?

Did you check the Events viewer to see if it shows anything?

Have you made any hardware changes? Do you have a manufacturer's standalone
diagnostic diskette to check the integrtity of the HDD? MAyb an XP
"repair install"?
