Wondering CELERON-D or PENTIUM-4 (Just Curiosity)

Hi There,

I have a 3yr old P4 2.6GHz desktop which works great, but have no AGP/PCI-E
slots. I am looking to upgrade my system. Now when I look in market, I saw
CELERON-D 2.6 GHz. I wonder which one is better? Any suggestions?

Thanks in Advance

Depends on what Celeron-D you were looking at. If you could post the
Intel reference number 3xx for the Celeron-D and the exact specs for
your Pentium 4 (FSB and cache) we could tell you.

If it was before the reference number system by Intel, then don't buy
it. Just get a PCI video card and forget about the whole computer for
now. PCI video cards have less than 10% performance difference between
their AGP/PCI-e counter parts. The only difference I have been able to
see is the load time of 3D data, but frame rates and other performance
nearly identically once the game is loaded.

Wow, Thanks Luke.

This is Great Information. All these days, I thought AGP got high
performance that PCI and PCI-E got high performance than AGP.

hmm.

This is real good information.

Thank you Luke.
