WMP10 does not recognize cd-drives

Some time has passed since WMP10 was installed and I am just now trying to
Burn. Player does not recognize any burner drives that are present ("No CD
or DVD burner has been detected.") Nero is being used for plug-in.
Options/Devices lists that all system drives are present. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks for your response. WMP10 Tools/Options/Devices/Drive
Properties/Recording exists and is set properly. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your input. No information available @winxp/expertzone that
relates to this issue. Is this the correct info?

If you still have not as yet got your CD-Rom playing, suggest the following:
Start>My Computer>rightclick your CD-Rom drive (probably "D">Properties
Now click the AutoPlay tab, under contents click Music files and
under Action select Play using WMP. Click Apply and OK.
If you still have no success, suggest you open your PC case and check your
cables to the CD-Rom drive and see if they are plugges in properly and also
check when you boot your PC if the light on it flashes to see if it is
getting power.

My apologies to you Byte, I failed to include enough information in my
original inquiry. Utilizing various software(Nero, Cyberlink, Ulead,
Leadtek, etc.) and my currect hardware config., I have processed and burned
well over 100 hours of DVD/CD audio and video files with no problems. WMP10
Options/Devices recognizes all of the system DVD-Rom and DVD-RW drives, and
also Nero Burning Rom as a plug-in. WMP10 has no problem reading and playing
all formats of CD's and DVD's. However, in trying to burn an assemble
playlist, WMP10 does not see an available CD or DVD burner. I can use Nero
to access all WMA/WMV files and burn successfully but, WMP9 was quick and
easier to use. Any suggestions? Thanks!
