WMP no longer reads my video camera

I have already transfered video from my digital camcorder to my PC
sucessfully a few times but it has been almost a year since I used it last so
maybe I am doing something wrong.

I have my camera plugged into my PC using a USB cable. When I open Media
Player and click capture video from device, I get an error message that says
A Video Capture Device is not connected. Check to see the device is
connected properly and try again.

I have no idea why it is not reading the camera. As I said I have done
several videos with this camera in the past so I know it should work but I
haven't used it in awhile so maybe I am forgetting something.

ANY suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

The same thing is happening to me. I used MM@ to capture the video. After
dozens of attempts and getting error message, then shutting down, I
uninstalled MM2 and tried to download it again. I cannot figure out how to
download it, it just says to click for automatic updates if you want to
download it.

In the past I have used MM2 many times, but its been a while, probably a
year, like you. Bev
