wmp in windows mail

No matter what I try, including pinning wmp to start-up or making it my
default player, I always have to wait forever for media changing, in order to
view
attachments from emails. Any suggestions?

Is the wait time almost as long if you first save the attachment, then
open the attachment outside of Windows Mail?

Make sure your antivirus is not configured to scan emails, see
