I am having an issue with Windows Media Player 10. I don't know if this is
normal behavior or part of a virus. Anyway, in Windows XP Pro, If I go to
the Windows Media Player program folder and delete the wmplayer.exe file, it
goes to the recycle bin, but then re-appears in that folder about 30 seconds
later. The file I deleted stays in the recycle bin, so there are two files,
one in the folder, and one in the Recycle Bin. The same thing happens with
other Windows Media Player Files.
Does Windows Media Player 10, by default have some sort of Self-Preservation
Measure in place, or is this being caused by a virus?
Also, if you have a clean system, and you want to do me a big favor, and
have WMP 10 and XP SP2, delete the "wmplayer.exe" file to the recycle bin and
see if the file returns to the Windows Media Player Program File. Also, if
you have an answer to this problem, please reply.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
