WMM2 Freezes on adding Title

WMM2 freezes consistently if I try to add a title.

The movie is otherwise finished. I click on the "add title or credits"
button, and choose "title at beginning of movie". I start typing in my text
for the title, and while doing so I get the dreaded "this application has to
close, do you want to send a report to Microsoft" message, and the app
closes.

I redownloaded WMM2 (although the same build I already had, the newest),
reinstalled, and tried again. Same problem. What's causing it?

Hi there,

This may be a codec issue. You can download a program I wrote called
"Rename Codecs" from www.the-kellys.org

Basically it gives you the oportunity to rename codecs that have in the
past been known to cause problems. After your use of Movie Maker you can
again use the program to rename them to their original file names.
