WMM2 Error saving large project as DV-AVI (PAL)

I am having trouble saving my movie in Windows Movie
Maker 2 as a DV-AVI (PAL) file. I was able to save the
file OK until I got to a certain size (may or may not be
relevant). The projected file size at present is 7.826GB
when I set the saving parameters. After 10% (consitent)
of the file is rendered, the process generates an error
(submitted to microsoft). Drive is a Serial ATI using
ntfs with >160GB available.

Yes - definitely NTFS file system on this drive. I
haven't found a solution yet and this is bugging me
