WMM error message

I have a Windows XP home editon. My windows movie maker has always worked
just fine and then one day while I was playing back my movie I was working
on, the sound was gone but the video was still playing. Then the sound would
come back. A few weeks later I tried to open up a movie that I had saved to
work on more later and I got an error message saying "Windows Movie Maker has
encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience." Now I
cannot open up any movies I have saved to work on because I get this error
message. Please help!

Were your music files mp3? If so, delete them and you may get your projects
back.
Only use wav music

Thanks. Do you have any suggestions on how to be able to open up my saved
projects without getting an error message?

Yes, as I said first, deleting uncompatible files that are contained in
those projects often works. Try it first.
