WMM crashes with avi's audio

I am using WMM (wmm 6) a lot and up to day everything was perfect, (well
except some usual crashes due to ram overuse). This morning I tried to open a
saved project and my WMM crashed. Same happen with any other project I tried
to open. Then I tried to load media files from my drive, crashed again.
After many hours of searching and trying many things I found out that
problem was the sound of some avi files I inserted. When I insert the video
it plays fine on wmm’s player and even when I drag and drop it on video time
line but if I try to drag and drop it on the audio time line the program
crashes. I don’t understand why this is happening; everything was walking
fine until today.
I checked the files with AVIcodec and their audio MPEG Layer 3 and I
got the necessary codec I need for it on my computer so I don’t get it why
the program crashes :/ could you please help me on this one?

Thank you very much for your time

Maybe the .avi files need to be converted to a
different format before importing into Movie Maker:

Have a look at the following articles:

The problem is I have projects with those files (they where working just fine
till yesterday....) I really need to open some of them cause I coudnt publish
them. The timing of those files took me ages to finish T_T the problem is not
that I cant fine an alternative way to work from now on (I am quite
expirience to this field of expertise) my problem is my old projects saved
with those files which I cant open cause WMM crashes.
