ok. this is an interesting issue and I can't seem to figure it out and have
searched everywhere (I could have missed something somewhere). I have been
using Vista Ultimate 64. Up untill a few days ago my Samsung Blackjack was
syncing fine and everythignwas great. Then suddenly the WMD will not even
open. It shows the slash screen, shows up in Processes, I jsut can't figure
out what in teh world is gong on. I have uisntalled adn reinstalled it
several times. Including Uninstalling it and removing all registry entries
for WMDC with no luck. Anyone have anyidea anything else to try?

Which version of WMDC is this, 6.0 or 6.1? Have you tried doing a System
Restore before you started experiencing the syncing issue?

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

This will replace/repair any broken files.

V6.1 latest download from Microsoft. Nice command, trying it now. Didn't
know about it. Trying it right now. I miss being ble to surf the net from
my cell connection while my wife drives down the freeway.

got no integrity violations. Another interesting thing is that the sync
system tray icon also stopped showing up when all these issues started. I'm
almost at the point of reinstalling Vista and writing it off as a weird
glitch.

ok found the problem. Don't know the fix. Looks like the mobile based
service is erroring. Error log...

The Windows Mobile-based device connectivity service terminated with
service-specific error 2147942405 (0x80070005).

Try this this instead of the reinstall.

Boot from your Windows
Vista DVD, select the System Repair Option > on the setup screen, select
'Repair Computer > Select your installation of Windows > select Startup
Repair option and follow instructions.
