I'm having continued problems with Sync and partnership after 'upgrading' to
Vista Home Premium. My Dell Axim X5 will not connect with WMDC nor will the
Laptop open WMDC. I have reinstalled the latest version of WMDC
(drvupdate-x86.exe) but the Laptop and PPC won't talk to each other at all.
(By the way, the Dell works fine on my other older PC with XP and Active
Sync). Whatever I try with Vista the WMDC won't even open/load. I connect
the Dell via USB and get the 'ping' and safely remove hardware tab but
nothing else happens no matter what I do. If I click the WMDC icon via
control panel nothing happens at all, if I click it with the PPC connected in
the cradle a window opens which says "waiting for device to connect" but
nothing else - it never does!. Interestingly, although the drvupdate-x86.exe
is listed in the programs available to uninstall (as 'Windows Mobile Device
Centre Driver Update' and not as 'Windows Mobile Device Centre'), neither
show in the 'start/programs' list. Is it me?
Any help much appreciated
