How do I turn off the "splash screen" that pops up when activating Windows
Mail?

You have to edit the Registry to disable the Splash Screen.
If you are not comfortable working in the registry then get someone who is,
to help you.

*You follow the instructions at your own risk*

Close Windows Mail.
Start>Run>type regedit>OK>navigate to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail
in the right hand pane>right click a blank area>New>DWORD (pertaining to
your version 32 or 64 bit)>type NoSplash>hit enter>right click on the added
NoSplash>Modify>give it a value of 1.
Exit regedit>open Windows Mail and no splash screen.

Hi Mac

Is it possible to do the same, and if so how, with Windows Live Mail please?
I tried creating a correspning entry in the Live Mail hive of the registry
but to no avail.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

Paul Lemonidis.

You're likely to get a better answer if you ask in newsgroup:

Not that I have found to date, have not tried it for a while because I do
not use Live Mail.

Maybe follow Roberts advice and post to the relevant newsgroup?

Then again I see that, (using a Google search), fellow MVP Winston gave you
the answer = No. ---- Sorry.
