Err File-Import-Messages/Contacts? Possibly?
If you don't have Outlook installed but have a pst file, then download and
install the Office 2007 trial. Connect the pst file, then do the import in
Windows Mail. Uninstall the trial when finished...

Windows Mail cannot import a .pst file unless Outlook is installed
on the Vista computer.

You can install Outlook, copy the .pst to the Vista computer, open the .pst
with Outlook, then you can import into Windows Mail.

Or,
If you have Outlook installed on an XP computer, import the .pst data into
Outlook Express, copy the .dbx files and .wab file to the Vista computer,
and import into Windows Mail.

I am not very comfortable with technicallity.
Can you kindly explain, step by step, how to migrate my messages from an old
pc - OPC - running windows xp and outlook 2003, to my new pc - NPC - with
installed Vista, Window mail and Outlook 2003?
On the new pc - NPC - I want to use Window Mail and not Outlook 2003 as a
normal mail system.
Thank you,

Thank you,

The first step is to install Outlook on the VIsta system. You don't have
to activate it or run it, it just has to be installed.

Then copy your PST file over from the old system and in Windows Live Mail go
to File, Import, choose Outlook, point it at the PST file, and let it go.

None of this will work unless you first install Outlook.
