Wireless Zero Configuration

Kevin

I'm struggling trying to get my laptop to recognize my
employer's wireless network (everything works fine at
home). I've deduced that I need to activate the Wireless
Zero Configuration in the config.sys (alternatively, in
the services under "manage" my computer). Problem is,
the Wireless Zero Config is NOT in the list of services I
can activate! I've flipped around the web a bit and this
seems to have occurred for other people who have Linksys
wireless cards with XP but install Linksys' WLAN monitor,
but I have not found a solution. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

The solution:

Open your wireless connection properties in control
panel, net connection, net connection, wireless net
connection, properties, general. Then click install,
service, add, have disk. Browse up
C:\windows\inf\netwzc.inf and install it.

This should reinstall XP's Wireless Zero Config Service
so that your 11b adapter starts working again.
