Customer has Toshiba laptop with built in 902.11 b . He
also has a built in intel 10/100 jack. It shows that there
is a strong signal from the Netgear router 3 feet away,
but there is no way I can get it to connect to the
internet. A desktop wired into the router goes online
fine. I even plugged the cable from the desktop into the
laptop, but it will NOT go online.
I plugged in a netgear wireless card, it showed excellant
signal strength etc, but IE will not go online!! At one
point I looked in the network neighborhood on the desktop,
and it also showed the laptop.

It just won't go online !!!!

what are your ipconfig /all settings?
Is there a default gateway? A dns entry?
are they correct, the same as the computers that can go online?

Bob,

From both computers (the wired desktop and the wireless laptop),
please run "ipconfig /all >ipconfig.txt" and copy contents of
ipconfig.txt here. Help will be readily available.

Cheers,

Chuck
