Wireless Networking using Windows 2000

I NEED HELP. I have tried what seems to be everything. Im using a wireless
router to connect to my exisiting network. when using windows xp i can
easily gain access to the network remotely becuase it automatically detects a
wireless network. I cannot get win2k to do this. I have tried manually
configuring the wireless net in the wireless devices properties to no avail.
I have downloaded toshibas utility for wireless networks (im using a toshiba
tecra s1 laptop) and the util still will not let me connect to anything
wireless. How can i get win 2k to auto detect wireless networks? Everyone i
know says their win2ks just automatically detect networks so they have never
had a problem. Any help is greatly apprecaited.

Thanks Derek.
