wireless network

Hey,

I'm trying to set up a wireless home network between my desktop pc and my
daughters laptop.
I am using a Belkin Wireless G USB Adapter on the laptop,the problem is that
i'm not transmitting any packets just receiving them any help would be very
much appreciated.

It'll be best if you bought an Access Point in order to make it easier for
you to connect every computers together. (an AP is quite very cheap these
days...)
For instance you can connect the AP to your PC through LAN cable, then the
Belkin's USB Wireless Adapter can be plug into your daughter's laptop.
There're plenty advantages if you use AP, besides easier installation &
connectivity...
