Wireless network won't go above 54mbps

I have a Netgear DG834GT 108mbps router and 2 Vista Ultimate 32bit machines.
One with the matching Netgear 108mbps usb stick, the other with a Belkin
SuperG F5D7000 PCI card (Version 2). The router is set to "Auto 108" which
forces it to channel 6. Signal strength is excellent. Latest drivers are
loaded and latest firmware on the router. All Windows updates are installed.

On my old XP machines I had a reliable 108mbps network. With Vista I cannot
find anyway to go above 54mbps. The Netgear utility has no settings. The
Belkin utility will not start. In the Vista wireless network properties the
parameters have no settings above 54mbps.

Is it possible to get 108mbps in Vista, if so how? Has anybody else managed
it?

Thx

Rob

these 108 speeds are proprietary and you need a working utility from
the vendor to use them. Windows won't support this natively. You'd
need to contact the tech support folks at Netgear and Belkin to see
if they have or plan to release any Vista compatible tools.

Thanks. Think I will just have to give up and wait. Netgear and Belkin tech
support both useless. An India call centre that works on a script and have no
idea. Netgear say a Microsoft problem and awaiting a Microsoft update. Belkin
just don't even grasp the problem.

What seems strange is not many theads on this on the web.
