Wireless Keyboard - Special Keys not working

I have a Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1 installed. The special
keys on the keyboard (My Documents, My Pictures, My Music, Player controls,
etc.) do not work.

I have the latest Intellitype software and have set everything to default.
These keys did work once when I first installed the product but they ceased
working and I just can't seem to find a resolution.

Things I've tried.
- Uninstalled / Updated IntelliType software.
- Uninstalled Keyboard - reinstalled.
- Checked the batteries - Intellitype shows them as strong
- Checked the signal - Itellitype shows it as strong
- Looked for conflicting products - nothing found.

Some observations:
- The sleep button on the keyboard works but the other buttons do not.
- I have errros in my Device Manager. There are two entries for
HID-Non-USER Input Data Filter that show a Yellow Exclamation point. The
error indicates that Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this
hardware. All attempts to resolve this has resulted in a dead end. There is
a ton of information about this error as it pertains to a problem with screen
savers but nothing that I can find related to this product.

Please let me know if anyone has some input or suggestions.
Thanks...

I just moved my wireless natural multimedia keyboard from an XP system to a
Vista Home Premium system and have run into a similar problem. When I install
Intellipoint 6.1 all function keys work great, I can reassign them, etc. Once
the system enters sleep the first time after installation and then is
restarted all function keys quit working and many of the caps do not strike.
Did you ever find a solution?

Thanks...

I'm afraid I didn't. I hunted for a few weeks and come back to it every once
in a while but I haven't found anything yet.

Hi,

Here is what I did to solve the issue.
I had the same problem. The special keys on my Microsoft 1000 wireless keyboard were not functioning.
First removed battery from keyboard. Then disconnected Wireless receiver. Waited couple of minutes then replaced batteries and reconnected the receiver. Pressed the link butons on the devices.
The problem was gone.
I think from time to time the wireless receiver must be disconnected in order to keep it working. (Glitches happen).
Hope that helps,

Lorant
