My wireless keyboard disn't work (but optical mouse did) After exhausting
all troubleshooters, on-line resources, and returning 2 wireless desktops to
the store, I finally called MSft SUPPORT. Here's the little secred trick they
gave me:
Pressing one or the other didn't make a difference on my unit. The 30
seconds was also key.
The same issue happened AGAIN after changing the keyboard BATTERIES. Who
knows why. Who knows why Microsoft choose not to post that fix on their
support pages. It can't be all that remote if 3 new units failed on BOTH my
relatively new HP laptops. One is running windows XP home, and the other
Windows XP media edition. Hope this safes someone all the trouble I went to.
(Another lesson I learned here - when support issues concern a NEW product -
don't bother with looking up the fixes. The free phone call is SOO much
easier. I so wish I had called suuport first instead of last).
