I have 2 computers I want to put into a wireless network to share files and connect to the internet. I have a wireless internet connection and have successfully set up a Microsoft Wireless-G Base Station (MN-700). I wanted to connet a Microsoft Wireless-G PCI card into my desktop computer in another room to the internet and everything was working fine until I tried to connect to my new network. The adapter in the desktop recognized my new wireless network but when I tried to use the WEP security key to connect, a dialog box came up and said that it was unable to connect to the selected network and to correct my settings and try again. I checked all of the settings and the IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, and DNS server addresses are the same. Should they be the same or should they be different?

The network settings for the wireless card should be set to automatically
get an IP address and DNS addresses, so it can pull them from the router.
Once that is accomplished, if you still can see but not join the wireless
network, the most likely cause is that you've mistyped the WEP key on either
the router or the desktop.
