Wireless connection problem

Vital Stats: Linksys WRT54GS wireless router connected to cable modem.
Cat5 to first PC from router, works perfect. Linksys WMP11 PCI wireless
card installed in second PC. WinXP, 1024 ram, 240g SATA, Asus K8V SE, AMD
3k. Installed drivers, then card - recognized perfectly. System connects,
second PC is assigned an IP number (192.168.xx.xx) and I have full internet
access. No encryption is set up at this time (unsecured) for
troubleshooting.

Two problems: First, if I leave the computer idle for more than 5-10
minuites, I am disconnected from the router and can't reconnect. I must
disable and restart the network card to obtain a connection. Second
problem, probably related, is that Windows does not recognise that the card
IS connected, although the Linksys utility shows "Excellent" connection and
I DO have network access.

I'm still working on this, but I don't believe that this router has a
browser-based settings page, but rather propriatary software. I had to use
a CD-based program to initialize and set up the router, and not many
settings were available - such as clone MAC or filtering.

Any suggestions on the Windows side of things to keep the card and router
connected, so I'm not "repair"ing my connection every 10 minuites?

... welp, nevermind. I reset the router, activated the encryption, and
logged in wirelessly. Everything is good. Sometimes, it's just better to
reboot.

Did you try typing in 192.168.1.1 in your browser to login to the router
through the web based interface?
