Wireless Connection Problem: Unable to browse after certain period

I have used Windows Vista Ultimate Edition since Feb.
I have this problem that every certain period (1-2 hours), my browser
suddenly get disconnected from Internet. I never experience this when
I use Windows XP. I connect to my wireless at home. The other
applications that are already connected to the internet, like Windows
Live Messenger, Google Talk, etc, seem still get connected to internet
(but when i logout, then I cannot login anymore). I use Internet
Explorer/Firefox to browse, it only shows "The page cannot be
displayed". I already try to diagnose, renew IP Address, disconnect
and then connect again, but none seems to be worked. When I try to
ping, for example "ping www.google.com", there's a reply. The only
solution is to restart the whole Windows Vista. The icon in the system
tray (right-bottom of taskbar) still shows that it's still connected
to internet. None of other PC (Windows XP) in my home experiences the
same problem.

I suspect this error has something to do with Thinkpad Access
Connection, then I uninstall the whole Access Connection, but problem
persists. Even get worse, I got disconnected in only half hour just
now.

I try to connect through Virtual PC (Windows Server 2003), and
surprisingly, I am able to connect to internet inside the guest OS.
This is getting ridiculous, it's difficult for me to get restarted
every 1-2 hours just to browse to internet.

Anyone can help me? Someone says that I need to set the wireless not
to use power saving, but I cannot find how to change the setting.
Please help.

Hmm.. I have found a way how to set Wireless setting to Maximum
Performance in Power Options, Advanced Power Setting. But, problem
remains :(.
Please help me, I think this leaves me without any other option, than
switch back to Windows XP :(.

Try going into your modem software and run the connection setup wizard. You
may have to reauthorize your connections. You can also try enabling selective
ping to allow your modem to communicate with your comuter. I don't know if
this will work for you but it worked for me. Don't give up without calling
the support department for your modem. I think this is where the problem is.
Have a nice day.

I don't see any indication where this person is using a modem (*ughh*). I
spent several hours hooking up my network (broadband), which consists of one
deskopt (Vista), laptop (wireless on Vista), and 2 other desktops (one
hardwired, and the other wireless). My Godsend was getting a software
product called Network Magic. It takes all of the complications out of
setting up and fixing your network. Try it out and see. It is a fantastic
product that will save you hours (if not days) of headache-free Internet
access (with security, file and printer sharing all built in).
