Wireless and Windows 2000 Problems - Auto Logon?!

N

Neil M

I have a Windows 2000 machine with WiFi and it connects fine to our Access
Point.

Just wondered if there was a way to auto login to wireless network (if
detected) without clicking on CONNECT on the wireless properties.

Or even better, logging into network via main windows login (much like
windows/dialup, etc..)

Any extra help or suggestions would be grateful.

Thanks,

Neil

Is the wirless connection secure? If it isn't sometimes you get the prompt to check the box for 'connect me even though this wirless connection is not secure' option. Typically it should connect however if there is a choice of other networks around it may wish you to choose, in which instance you should look at the available networks list and make sure yours is at the top. Also, if it is a fairly good access point you can restrict the machines that use it in/out by configing the AP to only see the MAC address of your wireless card. Typically you can do this through the config page on the AP on an Internet browser. Like I say depends o the AP.
