P.S.: Here is Freeware! Well, maybe not so good as it was one time, but
freeware.

I suspect that you may have uninstalled the old one or failed to install the
new version into the same directory, ie over the top of the old version. My
experience has been that each generation of WinZip uses a different product
key verification algorithm, BUT that if you simply update an existing
installation, the fact that the registry keys are still present and still
pointing to the executable and related files means that Winzip considers
itself registered. I admit however that I have not tried Winzip10 as 8.0
still does everything I need; perhaps this functionality is inadvertantly
broken in the latest version.

Okay, Charles D. Bohne's post below clarifies things - I was half right, the
"automatically registered" functionality is indeed broken, but this appears
deliberate and not accidental (as I postulated it might be).

I think you have this group confused with some other group. We discuss
/ suggest *freeware*, of which Winzip is not.

May I suggest IZArc or 7-Zip? There are others, as well.

my personal fav i tugzip :)

Stupid ****. Still working. Upgraded when it came out - no problem.

You missed the point. Just because WinZip 10 upgraded on your computer
does not make it freeware it.

Do me a favour and wash your mouth out.
