WinXP won't let me convert a disk to dynamic

I have an 80Gb and a 200Gb disk connected to my motherboard, and a second
200Gb disk connected via a separate controller.

I had the 2 x 200 disks spanned together using the XP disk management utility.

Now, in a routine re-build of my system, while all disks appear to be
working OK, the disk management utility tells me that I have no space on the
2nd 200 disk to allow it to be converted to dynamic prior to spanning again.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steven Lyall

delete the partition on D: and retry ...spanning should recreate the
partition for you

Thanks - this works, but leaves me with a different problem. As soon as I
delete the partition on the 200Gb drive on the sepratae controller, the
system begins to see it as having only 137Gb.

Thanks again,

Steven
